Suspiros

Pastelerías Suspiros has been part of Mexican family celebrations for decades. Their cakes and pastries carry real emotional weight: birthdays, quinceañeras, graduations and other special events. But their online shop didn't reflect any of that: it was functional at best but forgettable at worst.

This was my first project at LKMX, and it set the tone for how I approach digital retail: the product deserves a presentation that earns its emotional resonance, not just one that gets the checkout flow right.
Working with the Design Lead, I built a new UI proposal and user flow map for the platform — modernizing the visual experience while preserving the warmth and Mexican identity that made the brand what it was.

Goal

Modernize the Suspiros online shop with a visual design and user flow that reflected the brand's heritage and made online ordering feel as warm and personal as walking into the bakery.

Target Audience

Customers across Mexico ordering for everyday treats or special occasions — a wide demographic united by brand loyalty and a genuine fondness for the product.

Impact

One interactive UI element became the talking point of the redesign: a "rain effect" that dynamically animated cake ingredients falling across the screen. It was unexpected, delightful, and distinctly Suspiros — and it worked.

The element drove notable increases in website traffic and social media engagement, particularly on Facebook, demonstrating that the right visual surprise in the right context can do the work of a marketing campaign.
